
BIOGRAPHY
Richard Ness, AIA
Principal
Mr. Ness brings a wealth
of knowledge for the benefit of his clients. He received his Bachelor
of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental
Design degrees from the University of Minnesota, School of Architecture
and Planning in 1980, and his Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in 1984. He gained his professional experience
during a 30-year career at several different types of businesses, all
with buildings as their primary business focus. As a consultant to architectural,
construction and development, and facilities management firms in the
greater Boston area, he became involved in a wide variety of projects
including housing developments, medical facilities, office and industrial
buildings, schools, movie theaters, hotels and resorts, and adaptive
reuse of existing buildings. In 1996 Richard opened his business in Marblehead
and founded his design firm. His diverse experience in architectural
design, building construction, fiscal management, long-term planning,
and physical condition assessment provide a cohesive knowledge base from
which to advise and direct decisions affecting his clients. Since 1996,
he has designed over 80 buildings involving both extensive renovation
and new construction.
